Masjid Hamzah - Project HUDA

The existing wudu areas frequently accumulate water, creating a potential slip-and-fall hazard. To improve safety and functionality, the renovation will include:
• Installation of a French drain system to properly manage excess water.
• Replacement of aging faucets
• Installation of new exhaust fans for improved ventilation
• Addition of two outdoor seated wudu stations to help ease congestion during peak prayer times.
This upgrade will provide a safer and more comfortable wudu experience for our congregation.

The safety of our community is of utmost importance. As the number of attendees continues to grow, our current security system requires upgrading to meet the increasing needs.
The upgrade will include:
• Installation of high-definition indoor cameras
• Installation of weather-proof outdoor cameras
• License plate recognition cameras to monitor parking lot activity.
These enhancements will help ensure a safer environment and enable faster response to any incidents.

Our Multipurpose Hall (MPH) operates almost continuously throughout the year. Due to the heavy usage, one of our HVAC units has already failed and requires immediate replacement.
Without prompt action, additional units may also fail, which could significantly impact the comfort of our congregation during programs and events.

To improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs, we plan to:
• Replace the Men’s Musallah lighting with energy-efficient LED fixtures.
• Install automatic shut-off features to conserve energy.
• Improve exterior lighting on the back side of the building to enhance safety and visibility.

The carpets in both the Men’s and Women’s Musallah are nearly 10 years old and show significant wear. Replacing them will provide a cleaner, more comfortable environment for worshippers and enhance the overall appearance of our prayer spaces.

Last year, new lawn grass was installed on the left side of the entrance. During our monthly Voice & Vision community meetings, it was recommended to install a sprinkler system to properly maintain the grass.
This project will include:
• Installation of sprinklers for the existing lawn
• Additional coverage for dry areas
• Beautification of the masjid landscape

After more than 13 years of service, the interior walls of the masjid have accumulated dents, scratches, and discoloration.
Refreshing the interior with a new coat of paint will:
• Restore the building’s appearance.
• Create a more welcoming and uplifting environment for worshippers and visitors.

To support the growing digital and media needs of the masjid, the office requires upgraded equipment, including:
• A dedicated laptop for board operations and digital records
• Two PCs to manage content displayed on screens across the building.
• Replacement of several TV monitors used for security camera viewing.
• A commercial-grade printer for community media and materials
• Supporting accessories such as keyboards, mice, and cooling exhaust fans
These upgrades will allow the masjid to better broadcast programs and improve communication with the community.

Our community includes many young families, and providing a safe space for children is essential.
The project proposes the creation of an outdoor children’s play area designed to:
• Encourage physical activity.
• Provide a safe and engaging environment.
• Promote social interaction among children in an Islamic environment.

These improvements are vital to maintaining Masjid Hamzah as a safe, welcoming, and vibrant center for worship, learning, and community engagement.
