Hamzah Women Group

Alsalam Alikum sisters,

Our sisters held their first meeting last night and they had a great agenda, Masha Allah. I will include some of the remarks sent by sister Yasmine regarding the meeting below but before I get to that:

Now to quote sister Yasmine:

"Insha'Allah it (the meeting) was the first of many productive meetings that we will organize to help us not only enhance our Masjid experience, but also our relations with our local community. We talked about some great ideas last night, and it will
be fantastic to see them come to fruition. Following is a summary of what we discussed and agreed to:

1. The main goal of the group is to ensure we are proactive, productive and involved members of the Masjid.
2. We would like to sponsor and arrange events that will enrich our Deen, and involvement in the local community such as: parenting classes, book club, guest speakers, fundraisers, etc.
3. We plan to meet on a monthly basis, and keep communication through email, our new facebook group page and the Yahoo group.

Last night we made preliminary votes regarding the officers, and they are as follows:
Co-Presidents: Mehrun Khanam and Samia Almatawah
Secretary: Yasmine Jandali
Treasurers: Farah Siddiqui and Yasmine Jandali"
